STEMERGENT HACKS 2026 / HACKATHON PATHWAY

Turn a care concern
into questions you can ask.

CareRoute uses a small local language model to suggest an administrative care tool, while users stay in control. A visit organizer converts their own questions into a printable card.

Meaningful extension

The pre-existing app is the starting point. October 7, 2026 work adds up to five user-authored visit questions, keyboard-accessible Up/Down prioritization, removal, reset and stale-card invalidation. Reordering updates the printable sequence. These dates are disclosed; this work is not claimed to have happened during a future event window.

Scientific and technical reasoning

A multinomial naive Bayes model trained on 24 synthetic administrative phrases abstains on weak matches. Its job is tool selection, not diagnosis or urgency assessment. A separate explicit warning checklist remains primary. Source code and held-out intent tests make the behavior inspectable.

Demonstration plan

  1. Enter an affordability concern and apply the optional tool suggestion.
  2. Prepare a visit. Add questions about documents and fees.
  3. Move the fees question up. Build the card and inspect the same order.
  4. Change the order again; the old card disappears until rebuilt.
  5. Reset or reload to clear the concern and questions.

Eligibility and timing

The signed-in student is registered. Configured submission dates open October 31; the prose dates conflict. Submission is pending the live window and confirmation that the disclosed extension satisfies the host's meaningful-new-work rule. No event-time work or acceptance is fabricated.

Limits & disclosure

US resource navigation only; no clinical validation or patient outcomes. Existing submissions to UnivaBio, ML Empowerment and Next Founders are disclosed. Codex assisted with implementation, tests and writing.
